The Local Show with Morgan is a weekly student-produced radio program spotlighting local and regional musical talent from across the Midwest. Launched in the summer of 2024, the show was created to give independent artists a platform while providing hands-on broadcast experience for Smithville High School students.
The program is hosted by Morgan, a Smithville High School senior and the student station manager for Warrior Radio. Morgan curates and programs three hours of music each week, featuring emerging artists, established regional acts, and listener-recommended tracks. Her work includes music selection, show formatting, audio production, on-air hosting, and promotion.
The Local Show with Morgan is produced entirely in the Warrior Radio Studios at Smithville High School, utilizing industry-standard equipment and workflows to give students real-world broadcasting experience. Morgan produces the show as part of the Supervised Marketing Experience course, where she applies concepts in branding, audience engagement, promotion, and media operations.
Since its launch, The Local Show with Morgan has become a signature program of Warrior Radio, highlighting the creativity of local musicians and showcasing the talent and initiative of Smithville High School’s student broadcasters.
